Baby Unit

Care 4 Kids, Blackburn, offers 18 places for Babies aged from birth to 2 years. The staff ratio in this room is 1 member of staff to 3 children.

Our baby unit is self-contained with all the facilities for the under two’s. Although one unit, we have separated the younger babies from the older babies to ensure both safety and comfort for all.

Our youngest babies are catered for in our large, bright conservatory which has been designed to create a loving, homely, calm and relaxed environment for tiny babies, not yet walking.

The older babies are located in the main body of the baby unit. This is a bright and stimulating area with an excellent selection of quality baby toys and appropriate age related equipment.

We have our own baby changing room to ensure the highest standards of hygiene and also a dedicated sleep room, where your child can sleep without being disturbed.

We encourage parents to discuss their baby’s sleeping and feeding routines as well as their stimulation and development needs.

Even at a young age, a stimulating programme takes place on a daily basis, which includes walks outside, story reading and singing. The children are also encouraged to participate in creative play. We have a messy area for painting, sand and water play as well as eating.

Each child has a key worker who will make observations whilst the children are playing and carrying out activities. These observations are put into your child’s Learning Journal, which is available for you to look at whenever you wish. These observations are also used to plan further activities and experiences to meet the individual needs of each child.
